What to wear for Photos | Amber Thorson Photography | Minnesota Photographer
How to decide what to wear to your photoshoot
If you are prepping for your first photoshoot you probably have a couple questions about what to expect. A common concern for people having their photos taken for the first time is what to wear. And so today we are going to cover a few tips to help you figure out how to look your best!
First and foremost, as a client of mine you already know that I help you with clothing and the session itself every step of the way! I will touch on the other parts of the session in blogs to come but for now lets focus on styling . You invest so much in your session so I always want to make sure we get the best possible outcome which starts with picking out the perfect clothing to compliment you perfectly!
Here are a few tips!!
Avoid fluorescent and really bright colors.
Layer your clothing and jewelry to add depth and texture - think hats, bonnets, sweaters, vests, carves, belts, suspenders, etc.
Be comfortable - steer clear of heels or clothing that is too tight. You want to be able to move around and feel good.
Flowy dresses work beautifully on women and girls - they show motion and move with you as opposed to staying rigid.
Plain shirts are great for boys and men - polos and collared shirts (unless linen) can leave guys looking a little stiff.
No logos or words - stay timeless by avoiding words and logos that will date the images.
Most importantly…. HAVE FUN and don’t ever hesitate to ask me for guidance!
I really hope this information was helpful to you and cant wait to see you for your session!
XOXO, Amber
